In recent years, since the tragic death of George Floyd, and movements such as the Black Lives Matter, ME TOO, and many other citizen-driven initiatives in the area of social justice, governments globally have been reviewing their policies to support education and real change towards a more fair, just and safer society. As a learning organization, we felt that we can do our part by bringing to you well researched and relevant DEI learning programs to help support Canada’s federal government mandate for change and employees across the country in both the public and private sectors. In doing so, we have assembled a diverse team of Canadian DEI specialists and educators, taken a deeply thought-out approach to the learning content to ensure we do no harm, while helping to support social transformation through knowledge and education. To this end, our content is evidence-based and well vetted before it reaches you. Given the nature of the topics inherent to DEI, we have built a blended learning program with Video on Demand (VOD) courses in both official languages, where most of the VOD courses can also be delivered with a live facilitator through virtual or in-person courses.
Building Blocks office is located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg people. In recognition and appreciation of their historic connection to this land, let us call to mind their ongoing contributions, as well as those of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples, in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole
